Moray Sports Centre Field of Hope

The Local Daffodil Field of Hope Plantathon at the Moray Sports Centre is starting to gain momentum!

I’ve just bought 450 Daffodil bulbs from the supermarket. I believe the Moray Sports Center has also managed to get a donation of 400 bulbs from Decora this week! Thank you!

If anyone knows of a local business that would like to donate further bulbs please get in touch with the groundsman Barry Sweeney (Baz) at the Moray Sports Center at Linkwood, or myself!

Last year we were a little late in the season for planting (end November) but this year we can start much earlier! Despite the semi-frozen ground last year, we were still able to make an impression! (see photos below)

We are looking to continue the efforts and cover that entire area in daffodils in aid of Marie Curie UK who’s local nurses helped me and Gillian’s close family when we needed it the most, just over 12 months ago

If anyone is feeling the need to get outdoors in the next couple of months and get some planting done, we are also looking for volunteers to help plant all these bulbs in the ground!

One year ago today…

One year ago to the day, we lost Gillian to cancer. Life will never be the same.

I’m simply sharing this beautiful acoustic cover of the late Avicii’s (Tim Bergling) – Without You… (NSFW – Appropriately Includes F word a couple of times.).

The soundtrack to my life for the last 365 days

Aberlour to Craigellachie Wander

Wee late morning wander earlier between Aberlour and Craigellachie. Needed to get out into fresh air to clear my head. Thankfully the good weather is still here and accomodating. ?

Hadn’t realised it was such a nice walk between the two along the old railway line. Also didn’t realise there was a 100m tunnel down there. May be one of my new favourite walkies places. (y)

Still think more should be done to open up old railway lines to be walking/cycle routes.

Said it before but this really is a wonderful part of the world, no need to go anywhere else!

Wander along to East Beach Lossiemouth

The footbridge over to the East beach Lossiemouth has been closed for a couple of years now but took an alternative route to get to the beach from Arthur’s Bridge just downstream on the River Lossie.

Bit of a trek, but worth it to get one of the best beaches in Moray all to myself for a couple of hours.

Shakedown to Cullen

Took the Impreza out today for a short run along the Moray Coast to Cullen. Nice part of the world this!

Always wanted to go for a wander over the famous dis-used railway viaduct, So spur of the moment thing.

Also, first time in a while the scoob has been back on the road and gone further than just a couple miles… Been chasing few different fuel leaks in recent weeks (rhyming not intended). happy to report all is well!

“May the Fourth…”

Cheezy title, I know.., But this date holds so much meaning for me. This was the date in 2014 when Gillian and I got married. Yes we picked the date specifically.

May the fourth” be with you all, to safely get through everything life throws at you!

Happy Anniversary Gillian! ❤️??
