 2007 Event News

Update: 28th April 2007 - 20:14
Just back from the 2007 event myself so once I get all my photos sorted out they'll show up here. Hopefully by the end of the night! Good event all over. Weather stayed good for all.. Later stages were delayed a little but that's pretty much normal for these events.

Update: 24nd April 2007 - 23:19
Stage details anounced today! Click here for details

Update: 22nd April 2007 - 01:48
Still no stage details yet I'm afraid. But all things going well I should have the details on Tuesday so please check back then to see where the stages will be held. I understand that the super special stages will be held at the AECC on Saturday morning. Please check back mid-week for further details.

Update: 4th April 2007 - 22:46
Well it's nearly that time again.. Time for the Granite City Rally once again. Ok I admit I've never actually managed to get along to the Granite City but I promise I will this year.

So far there are no stage details posted or entry lists but I'll make sure I post them here as soon as they become available.

One good but of news though is that there will be a return of the Super Special stage held at the AECC which will form at least 2 stages of the Granite City Rally this year. The Super Special has only ever been run twice, in 1989 and again in 1999. So should be very exciting!!

For those who are new to the event this year it's worth noting that we do not want to see a repeat of last years horrific accident where co-driver Graham Lewis was fatally injured while trying to slow other drivers down on stage 2 after his rally car stopped on stage. We all enjoy rallying, for being able to get close to the action but fortunately these sort of accidents are very rare and when they do occur it sends a shockwave across the sport.. Particularly the organisers of the event who must look into the safety aspect and how such an incident can be avoided in the future.

Remember Motorsport is Dangerous! So please be careful out there and be vigilant at ALL times!! I've seen some close missed myself with spectators only just getting out of the way while walking along the stages!

You can now order prints and other items from PhotoBox
If you require prints of photos not available on the photobox gallery. Take note
of the photo you would like to see, contact me and I will make it available for you!
